While we were only staying in Salem for one night, our experience staying at The Salem Inn made the visit all the more memorable. We stayed at the inn's Curwen House property, ideally located to explore Salem by foot, with several of the city's most famous buildings located along the same street. Our room was in a quiet corner position on the third floor, with a generous bathroom, comfortable bed, and a great view of the Ropes Mansion. From check-in to making enquiries, all of the desk staff were very welcoming and helpful. The breakfast that was included with our booking was a real surprise: delicious, and served up in the cozy converted basement level of the inn's property on Summer Street. After an evening exploring the city, it was a real treat to walk back and stay in one of the historic homes we'd been admiring. If we find ourselves looking for accommodation in Salem again, this would be the first place we'd check for availability.

I loved how close the hotel is to everything! My room at the Curwen House was adorable and quiet. The complementary sherry was amazing. The staff at both the front desk and the kitchen were very kind. Breakfast did have a vegan option for me (oatmeal and fruit) which is always appreciated. I’d recommend for anyone to stay here!

Location is walking distance from the Salem strip. It was nice to be able to walk everywhere from our room. The rooms are cozy but if you have a fireplace, the may be a bit stinky. Other than that, it's a great stay

Very nice, clean and would come back. We had good sized room on first floor with large updated bathroom. We also had a back door to a private deck. Surprise added feature. Our son stayed on 3rd floor with great room and modernized bathroom with added plus of a beautiful claw foot tub! Wonderful breakfast with fresh made to order omelets. Wine, sangria and cheese complimentary in evening was nice. Highly recommend! Wish we could stay longer!

I loved my experience at the Curwen House while I visited Salem. Check in/out was seamless. I'm so appreciative that they were able to hold my baggage for me to run around town before my flight after check-out. Breakfast was very nice (and complimentary)with wonderful staff there and all together at the hotel. Plus, they graciously accommodated my dietary needs being gluten intolerant. Location is great and I thought the antique interior is cozy. Everything was great! If I visit again I'm absolutely using Curwen House/Salem Inn again.

I booked my stay for 2 nights in the second week of September. This is in a great location, within walking distance of all Salem's major attractions. That is probably the best part about it. The food was not notable but not bad. The rooms themselves were dated but mostly in good condition and clean. The staff were nice and check-in/check-out was simple and straightforward. The mattress left something to be desired. I think what you're really paying for here is location. I think the price was pretty high for the low quality mattress and tattered canopy we got. I'm glad I got the experience of staying in a New England bed and breakfast, but if I came back I would probably choose a more affordable option that still had a good location.

I cannot say enough good things about my stay at Salem Inn’s Curwen House! Check-in was super easy and instructions were very clear. I also really appreciated the text reminders and ability to reserve my breakfast table easily. The room was spacious and the bed was super comfortable. The heater in the bathroom was a major plus. The location can’t be beat; close enough to everything but just outside the noisy areas. Breakfast was great: staff were very friendly and were hustling the whole time. The water refill station, ice machine, and microwave tucked in the alcove on the first floor were good little bonuses. I’ll be back!

I decided to spend the money for my husband and I to have a kid-free stay in a beautiful room of an historic home. I am glad I did. I chose the Jerusalem Room because I liked the decorations the best. It was exceptional. The bed and sitting chairs were comfortable and the bathroom was enormous with a large walk-in shower. The room was on the first floor, which allowed our room to have access to a shared deck and stairs at the back of the house. The deck was only shared with one other room, so it felt very private. The complimentary sherry was wonderful after a long day of sightseeing in Salem. We chose to sit in the private garden area for breakfast, which is at the Salem Inn's main house. The food was great and the ladies were very friendly.
